get BLASTED

It's Spring Break at Harvard, and you know what that means....

LOAD-IN ON THE MAINSTAGE!

Each year I have been at Harvard, I have forsworn sun and sand and traded balmy beaches for screw guns and table saws. My skin may be paler, but my soul is more fulfilled. Or so I tell myself.

So this year, my first spring as Mainstage Coordinator, I have even more responsibility to make sure things don't get fucked up. Knowing this, I promptly got sick and missed the first day of load in. Go me.

I felt terrible for missing the first day. My absence would obviously hinder the entire build process. But then I walked in this morning and found the stage looking like this:

For those of you who can't tell, that's a breakable 20-foot wall that's been built on the Mainstage. Guess I'm not as important as I thought. I just bring the cheer, I suppose. And the Robitussin.

Now the girls have gone to help username: FAUST and David and I are sitting doing producerial-type things. Clearly we are getting lots done. Or at least I am....

yeah i am...

i iz sick. iz no good. i iz speekin like lolcat.

This would be cuter if I weren't deathly afraid of ladybugs.

The point is, I am sick. On Spring Break. This sux. Srsly.

I am sitting at home. In Lynn. Nothing to do. Watching reruns of House. And Everybody Loves Raymond. (Don't judge, I have a virus.)

Coughing up a storm, too. Just received this from a friend:

Actually, not really. None of my friends is that mean. Or they might be, they're just not to my face. But I wouldn't blame them if they had sent me that. It is pretty disgusting.

Now I'm watching Austin Powers on TBS. Mike Meyers=hilarious.

More reasons I love Bill/Tammy ROCKS

His current gchat status:
Bill knows he should be studying french lit but alanna's adventures are just too compelling to resist.

This is why we are friends. We have a mutual love for Tammy and all that she writes and represents. I would just like to remind the world that she is my own personal goddess and I have the pictorial proof:

Yes, we may be Harvard students. Yes, we maybe should be reading our Old French books in preparation for our 9:30am Old French class. But dammit, The Song of the Lioness series takes precedence when you need some Alanna in your life. And Tammy rocks. Did I already say that?

It will be sad if only Bill and I get this, but such is life:

Continuing our trip to the early 2000's...

Remember this? Heeeeee:

but that was last year, boy, in the 8th grade...

Flynnie on her romantic predicament:

"I'm the Last of the Mo-dyke-ans!"

Just thought I would share.

Blast from the Past

So, don't ask me why, but I had a craving for early 2000's music a couple days ago and rediscovered Dream. Why were their songs so awesome? And their outfits so cheesily cute? For a refresher course:

My favorite parts include:
1) the random guy sitting in the middle of a skate park in a BLUE FURRY CHAIR. (I want one.)
2)the random man in a dog costume at the club/opening the limo door
3) short-haired girl's pimpin white hat. I think it may be velvet.
4) the "Bad Boy" graffiti in the background. Subtle, Sean Combs.

This is totally what I should be doing with my life right now. Not studying for my tutorial presentation in 25 minutes. Noooooope....

It's been a long time coming...

So I'm a blogging delinquent, I realize this. However, to make up for the fact that it's been a week, here are some choice quotes. Some of them are funny in general. Some of them are only funny to me:

Bill G.'s gchat status message:

is wishing he'd thought to bring his tamora pierce boxed sets with him

Marielle:

Marielle W., after bursting in on Arcadia rehearsal right as Jonah and Sara are rehearsing their steamy makeout scene for the first time:

*opens door, sees kissing session, makes terrified face, closes door*

everyone in the room laughs

*opens door again and announces, "Marielle Woods, cock blocking since 1985!"*

Scott:

after going over Shakespeare's sonnets in class for half an hour and running out of things to say, I try to come up with something enlightening, "So, Shakespeare's sonnets are...." but then falter and have nothing. Scott has this brilliant insight:

"The sonnets. They are awesome. There are many of them. They tell a story."

Thanks, Scott. So THAT'S what a PhD gets you. Infinite wisdom and verbosity.

Jillian:

at Rachel's inaugural legal drink at Noir, toasting the birthday girl:

"Here's to Rachel's 21 years. May she finally get one right."

Rachel, in response: "You have been spending WAY too much time with the Pudding."

Megan:

"I want a cookie, want a cookie!"

I have finally converted her.

And, in case you haven't had enough lol in your life:

BABY DEVIL!!!!!

Happy birthdays, Saint Patrick's Day, and March in general, everyone.

Love,
Olivia
